The short version
Founders & Frequencies is a static website. It does not run analytics tracking, it does not set cookies, and it does not load third-party tracking scripts. The only personal data it touches is the email address you provide if you subscribe to the newsletter, and the search queries you type into the site's local search box (which never leave your browser).
What we collect
Newsletter
If you subscribe to the quarterly newsletter, we receive your email address. We use it to send the quarterly letter and nothing else. We do not share it. We do not sell it. We do not enrich it. You can unsubscribe by replying to any newsletter email.
Local search
The site's search box is powered by Pagefind, a client-side static-site search engine. Your search query never leaves your browser. The search index is a set of static JSON files downloaded from this domain. No query log is created on our side because no query reaches our side.
Bookmarks & reading list
The "Save" button on each article writes to your browser's localStorage under the key founders-frequencies-bookmarks. That data never leaves your device. We cannot read it. You can clear it from your browser settings.
Logs
The hosting provider (Railway / Vercel / equivalent) keeps standard server logs — IP address, timestamp, URL, user agent — for operational purposes. We do not aggregate these logs into a user profile. We do not retain them longer than the hosting provider's default window.
What we do not collect
- We do not run Google Analytics, Plausible, Fathom, Adobe Analytics, or any other analytics tool on the site.
- We do not set advertising cookies. We do not run advertising.
- We do not run third-party fingerprinting scripts.
- We do not load social media tracking pixels.
Third-party services
Audio embeds on the site — Spotify, Apple Music, SoundCloud, Bandcamp — are loaded from the providers' own infrastructure. When you press play on an embedded player, you are interacting with that provider, and their privacy policy applies to that interaction. We do not pass identifying information to those providers; you do, by your own click.
GDPR / UK GDPR
Because we hold so little personal data, GDPR rights are simple to exercise. You may request access to or deletion of any newsletter subscription by emailing privacy@foundersandfrequencies.com. We respond within 30 days. The lawful basis for processing newsletter emails is your consent (you opted in); you may withdraw consent at any time.
CCPA / California
California residents have the right to know what personal information we hold (an email address, if subscribed), to request deletion (reply "unsubscribe" or email privacy@), and to non-discrimination for exercising those rights. We do not sell personal information.
Children
The publication is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 13.
Changes to this policy
If we materially change this policy, we update the date at the top of the page and note the change at the bottom. We do not change this policy quietly. The current version is the working version.
